The signs were remade by cutting down dead Palomar Mountain
Cedar trees.Hand milling, carving, sanding and painted with vintage
1920's colors.
During the October 2007 Wildfires "The Lodge" was saved do to the heroic efforts of the
Palomar Mountain locals and the Fire Dept.
The combined cooperation of the community saved much of what is left of the forest.I sprayed
Barricade fire retardant on the Lodge while others did what they had to do to suppress the fiery
blaze elsewhere. It took 16 gallons of retardant to completely cover the Lodge.
Unfortunately ,we were unable to save our home 2 miles away The fires overcame the cabin made
from local mountain cedar, oak logs and granite stone.
